It was later discovered that the ship, named "Thai Laemthong 8", was a large oil tanker that was swept ashore by waves and wind on rocks south of Koh Kood, Village 4, Koh Kood Subdistrict, Koh Kood District, Trat Province, causing the right side of the ship to have a leak.
